Minoh is located north of Osaka. It is known for its scenic autumn foliage in Katsuoji and Minoh falls (in Minoh Park). Due to the past typhoons in 2017 and 2018, some trekking trails to Minoh falls were damaged. But recently, it has been cleared up and has been reopened to visitors.
I went mid-November as well after I visited Hoshi no Buranko. The weather was fine and the leaves are showing a wonderful combination of greens, yellows, and reds.
After trekking or sightseeing, you might want to grab a bite of Minoh’s famous maple leaf tempura. This treat has been pickled for at least a year that’s why they have lots of reserves that you can have it all year round. This local treat that can only be found here with a history that dates back over 1000 years.
